When did you start your business and what made you begin?
I first studied corset making in post-secondary school. I really didn’t enjoy it, I found it tedious and boring. The corsets I was making then were historical reproductions. I was still sewing as a hobby when corsets started appearing in mainstream fashion again, and that’s when I decided to try my hand at making some more modern styles.

What inspires you most and is there someone who influences you?
Most of my inspiration comes from fantasy literature. My corsets and bodices are all named after the characters that inspired them.
Who are your biggest supporters?
It’s been really surprising to see the type of people who share my vision! The people who love my work really love it and they appreciate the whimsy. I really believe that you should express yourself fully with the way you dress, other people will see it and they’ll appreciate it, and that’s how you know those are your people!

Where do you see yourself in two years? What is your main goal?
I would love to be making more customs for people and special projects, and collaborating more with other creatives like artists and photographers. My biggest goal is just to enjoy myself.

If you could give advice to a new business owner, what would it be?
I don’t really feel qualified to be giving anyone advice but I’ll settle with: Follow your passion! Passion is contagious, so if you care about something, others will too!
